How many businesses have active websites in Barbados

The BizCensus corpus contains 913 active business domains in Barbados. This figure is a snapshot of the state of the public web on the island at the time of this analysis. It does not represent the total number of companies registered in the country, but rather those with active web presence that appear in our data.

Of those 913 websites, 615 publish visible business contact information (phone, email, or form). That is 67% of the total. It's a high proportion: it means that two-thirds of businesses with websites in Barbados make it easy for visitors to contact them directly.

The other third does not expose contact on the public web. This may be due to different strategies: social media as the primary channel, contact reserved for existing customers, or simply outdated website information.

The most represented sectors

The accommodation sector leads with 49 active websites. This is no surprise for a tourism island. Technology and digital agencies follow with 47 websites, reflecting demand for digital services.

Real estate accounts for 34 websites; professional services, 31; restaurants, 25; and health and wellness, 24. These five sectors concentrate the majority of registered web presence in our corpus. They are industries that serve both residents and visitors, or that need a digital storefront to compete.

Other sectors have lower representation in the corpus, but that does not mean they do not exist: it reflects what is indexed and visible on Barbados's public web.

Languages: English is nearly universal

Of Barbados's 913 websites, 820 are in English. That is 90% of the corpus. This makes sense: Barbados is an English-speaking nation and English is the official language.

There are 10 websites in Spanish, 2 in Russian, and 2 in another unclassified language. These figures are small but significant: they may correspond to tourism businesses serving visitors from other countries, or to local branches of international groups.

If you are looking for Barbados companies with multilingual presence, they are a minority. The island's digital strategy is designed first and foremost for English-speaking audiences.

What you can do with this data

If you run a business or work in sales prospecting, these numbers give you a snapshot of the web landscape in Barbados. You can use them this way:

To understand your market: If you are looking for competitors in accommodation or technology, you know there is web activity. If you want to sell to restaurants, you know there are 25 with active websites, and approximately 67% of them publish contact information.

To plan your own website: The fact that two-thirds of businesses publish contact is an indicator that it's worth doing. It makes it easy for potential customers to find you and reach out.

For prospecting campaigns: If you need to reach businesses in a specific sector in Barbados, this data gives you volume and context. Remember that any commercial contact must comply with local regulations and data protection rules. Prospecting should be done with good judgment and legal basis.

To review your presence: If you already have a website, ask yourself if you are visible. Do you publish contact information? Is it easy to find? The numbers suggest that is what potential customers expect.

Important nuances

This data is a snapshot: it represents the BizCensus corpus at the time of analysis. It does not include businesses without websites, social media presences without their own domain, or sites that do not meet our technical inclusion criteria.

Nor does it say how much traffic each website receives or how much revenue those companies generate. It is an inventory of active presence, not commercial success.

But that inventory is useful. It tells you where the activity is, what language is used to communicate, and how easy it is to make contact. That is the starting point for any digital strategy in Barbados.
